Stephen B. Burke, the current CEO of Comcast and CEO-To-Be of NBC Universal after the merger, was a Bush Ranger who raised more than $200,000 for George W. Bush's 2004 reelection campaign.
It's hard to believe Burke's politics and preferences will not affect programming at NBC and MSNBC.
Do we really need another FOX News?
Consolidating media control into a just a few corporate hands is dangerous and limits consumer choice. Comcast's record for service costs and quality is far from stellar.
People who enjoyed the liberal leanings of MSNBC may be very disappointed.
Comcast proclaimed they wanted "control" of NBC Universal, the assets are certainly valuable. Comcast will also be able to muzzle an important liberal voice or even shut them up entirely.
America doesn't need another Roger Ailes running another major media conglomerate giving America a Fox2.
Comcast lobbyists are flooding Washington.
It's time to put programming diversity and consumer choice ahead of corporate profits and GOP political gains.
